Obituary of John Wayne Simms
John Wayne Simms, age 76, of Digby, died peacefully at home on November 5, 2023, with family around him.
Although John was a carpenter for over 35 years, his main enjoyment was being around his family. When not with is family, John could be found hunting with Jimmy, his best friend for over 50 years. John also spent time travelling with his wife around Nova Scotia, various parts of Canada and Cuba.
John is lovingly remebered by his wife, Donna; step-son, Russell (Manda), Alberta; sisters, Alda Cowan, Digby; and Debbie (Doug) Willinson, California, US; mother-in-law, Joyce Comeau; sisters-in-law, Kim (Jay), Digby; Robyn (Robert), Digby; brother-in-law; Wade (Karen), Newfoundland; as well as may nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his mother, Mariam; brother, Roy; step-father, George; father-in-law, Herb; and sister-in-law, Bev.
Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Serivce will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
