Sawler, Iva Leila (Collins) 79 - Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville, formerly of Billtown, passed away Friday October 6, 2006 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Cannan, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late David and Annie (Wiles) Collins.
Iva worked for Windsor Textiles and Canada Foods Ltd. Kentville before she was married. She was a homemaker for husband Ralph and 10 children. She also cared for children from Family and Children?¢s services. Iva was a member of The Jean Rushton Auxiliary in Billtown. Iva was a member of the Billtown Baptist Church. She liked to sew and do embroidery work.
Iva is survived by daughters Marsha (Mark) Harper; Kentville, Donna (Kimber) Crossley; New Ross, Betty Weatherbee; Hantsport, Pat (Jim) Messem; Pereau, Connie MacPherson; Hantsport; sons Fred (Marlene) Schofield , Centreville, John (Judy) McKinnon, Port Williams; Garnet (Carol) Strong, Cannan ,Joe (Natalie) Meisner, New Germany; 22 Grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Roy, Kentville; sister, Bertha Reid, Kentville; several nieces and nephews;
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ralph; daughter Sharon; sisters Betty, Jessie, and Gladys; brothers John, Wilfred and David.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday October 10, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in Billtown Baptist Church, Billtown with Rev. Murray Shaw officiating. Family flowers by request and donations in memory may be made to the Billtown Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville following a reception in the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Funeral Home & Crematorium, P.O.
