Fraser, James Russell - 96, Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville, formerly of Habitant, Kings Co., passed away Monday, February 6, 2006 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Blomidon, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Stanley and Theresa (Barkhouse) Fraser. Jim was a loving and caring father, grandfather, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Jim worked as a farmer all his life on his own land and at several other farms throughout the valley, and for V.C Woodworth as a heavy equipment operator for over 20 years. Surviving are his loving wife of 74 years, Hilda (Woodworth); daughters, Jean Schofield, Kentville; Connie (Kenneth) Bayers, Musquodobit Harbor; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild; sister, Helen Quinn, Saint John, N.B; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by daughter, Olive; great-grandson, Donald; sisters, Rita, and Pearl; brothers, Howard, Lloyd, Joseph "Joe", and William "Bill". Visitation for Mr. Fraser will be held from 2-4p.m and 7-9p.m today in the H.C Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverett Ave. Kentville (902-678-2151), and where funeral service will take place at 2p.m Thursday, February 9, Mr. Charles O'Regan and Mr. Larry O'Regan will officiate. A reception will follow. Burial will take place at a later date in Habitant Cemetery. Family flowers only please, however, donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
