82, Waterville, Kings Co., passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, in the Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville. Born in Waterville, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Rosa (Lightfoot) Salsman. Joyce was a member of the Trinity United Church, Waterville and was active member of the U.C.W. and the Red Cross Society. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Waterville and District Volunteer Fire Department. Joyce was known as "Grammie Joyce" to the many children she babysat in her home over the years. She loved to sew, do handcrafts, cook and used these talents in many areas of employment. Joyce was a very giving and gentle soul, always involved in her community. In later years, she enjoyed her time spent living at Fundy Villa, Berwick, North Hills Nursing Home, Granville Ferry, and Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville. Surviving are her daughter, Brenda (Lawrence) Keddy, Black Rock; son-in-law, Bobby Balsor, Aylesford Mountain; grandchildren, Wanda (David Bowers) Keddy, Cambridge; Shelly (Timmy) Levy, New Ross; Ricky (Karleen) Balsor, Aylesford; great-grandchildren, Cody, Kaylee, Gracie, Jennamae, Andrew, Justin, Dillon; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dean (Evelyn) Salsman, Halifax; sister, Opal (Ray) Robins, Niagara Falls, Ont.; brother-in-law, Doug Langille, Lunenburg/Bridgewater; several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Cindy (Paul) Easson, Factorydale. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Bondra "Bonny" Balsor; brothers, Ivan in infancy; Kenneth (Dorothy) Salsman; sisters, Vera (Leslie) Roop; Nellie Langille; Ida (Sandy) Flynn; one in infancy. Visitation for Joyce will take place 7-9 p.m., Friday, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12. Rev.
