Obituary of Joycelyn Cook

81, New Ross, passed away Saturday April 4, 2009 at Shoreham, Chester, N.S. Born April 21, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Bruce & Viola (McDow) Swinimer. She was a loving, generous and devoted, mother, wife and homemaker, all of her life. She was one of the founding members of Christ Church Guild. Joycelyn is survived by her children, Richard (Janet), Kingsville, Mo.; Cookie (Medford), Lakeville; Otis (Pat), New Ross; Bruce (Brenda), New Ross; Betty (Merritt), New Ross; Jerome, Alderville; John (Trish), Windsor; Antoinette (Alan), New Ross, Michele (Aaron), Lr. Sackville, Anthony (Debbie), New Ross; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Jerome (Juanita), Western Shore; Leo (Avis), New Ross; Marie, Pismo Beach, Ca.; Betty (Murray) Seffernville; sister-in-law, Irene. Besides her parents, Joycelyn was predeceased by her husband, Elmer; brothers, Murray and Otis; sister, Goldie. There will be no visitation by her family's request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 38 Forties Rd., New Ross, N.S. (902-689-2961). A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday April 9 in Christ Anglican Church, New Ross. Rev. Frances Boutilier officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank all staff at Shoreham for their wonderful care. They were family to Joycelyn & she was a mom to all of them.
