84 , Berwick, Kings Co., passed away in the Grand View Manor, Berwick, on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Born in Weston, Kings Co., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Adelia (Palmer) Saunders. After graduating from Berwick and Lawrencetown High Schools, she moved to Saint John New Brunswick where she trained as a Registered Nurse at the Saint John General Hospital. She worked in the operating room there for several years before leaving to raise her two daughters. Ardyth was employed as the Operating Room Supervisor at Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick for 20 years before her retirement. She earned the friendship and respect of many physicians, colleagues and patients over those years. Ardyth was a very kind and caring person and enjoyed helping others. She delivered Meals-on-wheels, gifts to shut ins, and helped others in her community of Weston over the years. She was a member of the Berwick United Church, and was a life time member of the Weston Women's Institute. Ardyth loved her family above all; she especially enjoyed time spent with her great grandchildren. Her gentle spirit and loving nature will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Debby (Alden) Huntley, Berwick; Nancy (Steven) Baxter, Middleton; grandchildren, Michelle (Jeff) Brydon, Darcy (Charity) Huntley, Tatiana Baxter, Adam Baxter; great grandchildren, Raeghan, Andy and Kaitlyn Brydon, Kaileb Salsman, Hannah Huntley; sisters, Barbara Fuller, Hortonville; MaryAnne Carty, Berwick; brother, Reginald (Ellen) Saunders, Centerville. Ardyth was predeceased by her husband, Donald Crumb. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900),from where the visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, in the Berwick United Church, 240 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Linda Winton and Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders officiating. Ardyth will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery, Berwick.
