Obituary of Beatrice Brooks

88, Fundy Villa Apartments, Berwick, formerly of Auburn, Kings Co., passed away on Monday, October 19, 2009, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Prospect, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Grant Llewellyn and Beatrice Ileen (Best) Lloyd. Beatrice loved her home, the Annapolis Valley, was a fantastic cook, enjoyed crocheting, and was great story teller. She loved driving her car and had received her drivers license at age 65. Beatrice was a faithful attendee of the Grand View Manor church services. Surviving are her son, John (Michele) Brooks, Winnipeg, Manitoba; daughter, Eileen Brooks, Kingston, Kings Co.; grandchildren, Kathy, Heather, Christopher, Grant, Kara, Kyle; great-grandchildren, Corissa, Cody, Brandon, Zachary, Lisa and Allan; half sister, Phyllis Whynot, Boston, Mass. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Brooks. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service for Beatrice will take place 2 p.m., on Friday, October 23, in the Common Room of the Fundy Villa, 108 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders officiating, with burial in the Waterville Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
