67, of Aylesford, Kings Co. It is with profound sadness, that the family announces the passing of Bill on Friday November 2, 2007, in the Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton, after a short battle with lymphoma. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Marion Field, Musquodobit Harbour and the late William Field Sr. Bill joined the R.C.A.F. in February, 1958. He achieved the rank of warrant officer and in 1981 he was selected to be commissioned from the ranks and then achieved the rank of captain. During his career he was stationed at C.F.B. Trenton, Greenwood, Baden, Germany, Borden, Chatham and Halifax. Bill was dedicated to the military and he and his family enjoyed the military life immensely. He retired in June, 1988. After his retirement, he worked as a quality assurance engineer at Garrett Canada in Rexdale, Ontario as well as I.M.P. Group in Amherst. He again retired in 1998 and moved to the valley to play golf. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 98, Kingston, and was a member of Markland Lodge # 99, A.F. & A.M., Kingston, where he served as Worshipful Master, under the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia, from December 2004 until March 2006. He was also a member of Mayflower Chapter # 2, Order of the Eastern Star, Kingston and Annaval Chapter # 31, Order of the Eastern Star, Middleton. Bill was an adherent of the Aylesford United Church. Bill's family always came first but next was his passion for golf. He also enjoyed his time spent playing pool with his friends on Mondays at the Legion. Bill was also a great supporter of the Red Hat Valley Bloomers. He was often referred to as Pierre La Rouge. Bill will always be remembered for his sense of humor which he managed to retain through to the end of his illness. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife, Lois (Daye) Field of 48 years; his devoted sons, Terry & his wife Donna Field, Belleville, Ont.; David Field and his companion, Hannah of Seoul, South Korea; his much loved grandson, Christopher; granddaughters, Jennifer & Dannielle; his mother, Marion Field, The Birches, Musquodoboit Harbour; sister, Joan Smith & her fiancé, Loyd Murray, New Glasgow. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers & sisters-in-law, Gerry & Valerie Daye; Paul & Verna Daye; Byron & Vicki Daye; his nieces, nephews & cousins. Last but not least, his best friend & companion, Riley, who kept faithful diligence to his master while he was ill at home. Bill was predeceased by his dad, William Field Sr.; nieces, Diane (Smith) Nickerson; Tina Daye. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Masonic Service & Funeral Service for Bill will take place 2 p.m. Monday November 5, in the Aylesford United Church (2414 Hwy # 1), Aylesford. Pastor Kay Dean D.M. officiating, with a reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Kingston Health Auxiliary to any charity. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the H.C.
