88, formerly of New Ross, Lunenburg Co., passed away Thursday December 13, 2007, in the Veteran's Unit of the Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on March 31, 1919, in Mount. Denson, Hants Co. he was a son of the late George and Ethel (Spearing) Lake. Embert was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He served proudly overseas and was a veteran of the second world war. Surviving are sons, Paul (Gwen), Yarmouth; Joe, Leftbridge, Alberta; David, Spirit River, Alberta; daughters, Dawn (Terry) Mitchell; Linda & Mary, all of London, Ontario; Roseine, Alberta; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Evaline Harris-Lake; second wife, Ruth Jollymore-Lake; son, Danny in infancy; brothers, John & James; sisters, Christine & Gertrude. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A graveside service will take place & be announced at a later date in the New Ross Baptist Cemetery, New Ross. Donations in his memory may be made to the Veteran's Unit of the Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton or to any charity. Funeral arrangements are under the care & direction of the H.C.
