90, Harmony, Kings Co., passed away Tuesday January 1, 2008, in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Norris Point, Bonne Bay, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma (Harding) Bugden. Mabel had been a casual worker at Canada Post in Halifax for several years. She was a home maker and loved to garden. In her later years she enjoyed painting. Mabel was actively associated with the Kingston East Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed her volunteer work, bringing comfort to people from the Bible. Mabel was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are sons, C. Douglas (Janice) Hills, Texas; Phyllis Hills, Mississauga, ON.; Timothy David (Jo-Anne) Hills, St. John's, NL.; daughters, Barbara Ann (Winston) Peacock, Edmonton, AB.; Sandra Jean (Gary Felsbourg) Barbour, Terra Cotta, ON.; Linda Judith (Bruce) Jollimore, Harmony; grandchildren, Melody Ann (Rick) Kennedy; Andrew Douglas (Theresa) Barbour; Nicole Louise (Rob Butler) Musgrove; Richard (Pam) Musgrove; Christopher Bruce Jollimore; Elizabeth Anne (Shawn) Falkenham; Shaun Hills; Charla Marie (Clayton) Cook; great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Laura & Melissa Kennedy; Collin Musgrove; James & Simon Barbour; several nieces, nephews & cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward Douglas Hills (October 22, 2004); brother, George Bugden; sister, Marie Smurage; half-sisters, Ethel Pollard; Elizabeth Cook. There will be no visitation in the funeral home, as cremation has already taken place. Memorial Service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday January 5, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 337 Hwy # 1, Kingston. Mr. Peter Sheppard officiating, with a reception to follow in the Melvern Square Community Centre. Donations in her memory may be made to the Watch Tower Society or to the Kingston East Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Tibbetts Home For Special Care, Wilmot, the staff of the Winslow Unit of the Grand View Manor and also the many others who lovingly helped with their kindness & support during her illness.
