78, Aylesford, Kings Co. passed away Friday, January 16, 2009, in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in New Ross, Lunenburg Co., on July 23, 1930, he was a son of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Sawler) Hiltz. John worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway as a young man and worked as a carpenter for over 30 years. Although born in New Ross, he spent most of his life in Aylesford. Surviving are his children, Catherine Guest; Leah (Robert) McDow, all of Aylesford; Steven Hiltz, Greenwood; grandchildren, Heather & Jennifer Elliott; Jason Brown; Rodney Hiltz-Mugridge; Adam Brown; several great-grandchildren; brother, Edgar Hiltz, Aylesford; sisters, Ruby Reid; Doris Campbell, both of Alberta; Hazel Keddy, New Ross; numerous nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Robert Hiltz; sisters, Nita Eldridge; Beatrice Hill; Mary Selby. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service for John will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday January 20, in St. Mary's Anglican Church, 20 Morden Rd., Auburn. Rev. Charles Bull officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Grand View Manor. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the H.C.
