82, Kentville, Kings Co., passed away Thursday March 19, 2009 in Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton, Annapolis Co. Born in Somerset, he was a son of the late William and Esther (Parrish) Hiscoe. Wylie was an active member of his community. He belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion, Kentville Branch No. 6 and to the Kentville Curling Club. He worked for over 30 yrs. before retiring from Hostess Foods as a packer. Wylie is remembered for having a wonderful sense of humour and always having a joke to tell. He will be sadly missed by his many family and friends. Wylie is survived by his son, Michael (Angie) Hiscoe, Morristown; daughter, Diane (Ivan) Gramlich, Spruce Grove, Alb.; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Marion Richards, Middleton, Irene Hyson, Digby; sister-in-law, Linda Hiscoe, Steam Mill; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Wylie was predeceased by his wife, Matilda; brothers, William "Roland", Ainley and Wallace. Visitation for Mr. Hiscoe will be held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday March 24 in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville, N.S. (902-678-2151) where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday March 25. Rev. Thelma McLeod officiating. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, N.S. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Royal Canadian Legion Kentville Branch No. 6.
