Obituary of Robert MacDonald

74, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Violet and Fritz Herold (of Spryfield). He loved the outdoors and was employed as a woodsman in sawmills in Nova Scotia. He loved to fish, could tell a good story and his therapy dogs at the Grand View Manor were a big part of his life. He was appreciated for his card playing, (crib and 45s) by other residents. Bob had nothing but praise for all the staff at the manor who were such a part of his life. He is survived by four children, three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters, Linda Aikenhead, Fall River, Shirley Walkden, P.E.I.; brother, Bill Herold, Ontario. Family flowers only. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service for Mr. MacDonald will take place 11:00 a.m., Thursday April 16, in the Grand View Manor, 110 Commercial St., Berwick, with Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders officiating.
