88, Woodstock NB., passed away Tuesday March 31, 2009 in Carlton Manor, Woodstock NB. Born in Moncton NB., he was a son of the late Guy and Edna Maskell. Jack grew up in MA., and was owner of a multi floor and rug cleaning company on Cape Cod. He moved to Wolfville in 1973 with his wife Helen when they purchased Roselawn Cottages. They later bought Babcock's Restaurant in Wolfville, which they ran for several years. Jack was also head bus driver for King's Transit before moving to NB. with his second wife Alice in 1996. Jack was well-known throughout Cape Cod and the Annapolis Valley for his gospel singing. He was active in local churches as choir and music director. He played guitar and formed "The Kings Trio" which sang and performed throughout Nova Scotia. Jack loved gospel music and was never happier than when singing and playing for the glory of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Jack is survived by son, Dennis, Orleans, MA.; daughters, Janice Marcantonio, Marstons Mills, MA.; Karin (Scott) Biggs, Fletcher, VT.; Christine (Merle) Hurd, Dexter ME.; brother, Harry Maskell, Lowell, MA.; sister, Carol (Norman) Small, Gilmanton, NH.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his wife, Helen Maskell. Cremation has taken place. A graveside committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday April 11, 2009 in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Rev. David Irvine officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville (902-678-2151).
