90, New Minas, passed away peacefully in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, on Tuesday, July 3, 2007. Born in Port Greville, Cumberland Co., he was the son of the late Hance and Effie (Parsons) Mosher. In his earlier years, he lived in Halifax and Bridgewater before moving to New Minas in 1947. Carl graduated from Maritime Business College in 1936. He served in the Canadian Army and was then employed by War Assets before working as a commissionaire. Carl also worked as a Sales Manager for Milnes Garage and F.W. Robinson, and before retiring in 1965, he was the manager of the Kings County Housing Authority. Carl was a member of the New Minas Baptist Church and took an active part in church and community affairs. He was a former Kings County Councillor for the New Minas District, a member of the Gloosecap Curling Club, the Kentville Lions Club, and was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 6, Kentville. Carl spent his last three years thoroughly enjoying the staff and his many friends of Fundy Villa, Berwick. Carl will be remembered for his sense of humour, smile, and quick wit. His passions included trailering and playing cards with friends. Carl is survived by his daughter, Carole Anne Patterson, Halifax; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Carl was predeceased by his parents, loving wife Dorothy; daughters, Barbara Mosher and Patricia Conrad; sister-in-law, Verna Scarfe; son-in-law, Bill Patterson. There will be no visitation for Mr. Mosher by the family's request. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday July 6, with a reception to follow in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville (902-678-2151), Rev. Bob Billings officiating. Burial will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only please, however donations in Carl's memory may be made to Valley Regional Hospital or a charity of one's choice.
