72, of Aylesford, formerly of Arlington, passed away Wednesday September 19, 2007 at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Arlington Kings Co., he was the son of the late Charles and Florence (Wood) Rand. Charles lived most of his working life in Ontario working as a heavy equipment operator. He retired to Kings Co., in 2005. Charles will be missed by his many family and friends. He is survived by sons, Eric and Kevin, both of Ont.; brother, Ivan (Lorraine), Arlington; 2 grandchildren. Charles was predeceased by brothers, Kenneth, Rufus and Kempton; sister, Elaine. Visitation for Mr. Rand will be held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday September 23, 2007 in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville (902-678-2151) from where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday September 24, 2007 with Rev. Dr. Dan Gibson officiating. Burial will take place in Hillaton Cemetery. Donations in Mr. Rand's memory may be made to the heart and stroke foundation.
