91, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008, in the Transitional Care Unit of Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born October 14, 1916, in Grafton, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Milford and Myrtle (Brown) Pierce. Margaret was a member of Berwick Baptist Church and the MacPherson Auxiliary. She was also a member of Central Kings Crusaders Senior's Group and an avid 45's card player. Margaret enjoyed attending the United Church Camp Meeting and stayed in the family cottage many summers. She is survived by her children, Janet Custance, Truro; Linda (Alan Knowles), New Minas; Alan (Karen) Schurman, Berwick; Eric (Louise) Schurman, South Berwick; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Herman Pierce, Grafton; sisters, Helena Porter, New Brunswick; Verna Pierce, Ontario; Phyllis (Paul) Turner, British Columbia; sister-in-law, Bessie Frellick, Liverpool and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred Oakes Schurman and son-in-law, James Custance. There will be no visitation by Margaret's request. Funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick, with Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Interment in Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only.
