77, Victoria Harbour, Kings Co. passed away Monday February 4, 2008, in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Arlington, Kings Co. he was a son of the late Benjamin Douglas and Gladys Alberta (Rand) Ruggles. He was an avid blacksmith, woodsman, horseman and enjoyed the Mountain life. Surviving are a son, Walter (Helen Benjamin) Ruggles, Black Rock; daughters, Joyce (Bernie) Oickle, Halls Harbour; Lois (Arthur Benjamin) Ruggles, Auburn; Carol (Mark) Kennedy, Waterville; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Sharon) Ruggles, Perry Sound, Ont.; Carmen Ruggles, Barrie, Ont.; sister, Faye Parks, Berwick; brother-in-law, Donald Forth, Barrie, Ont.; sister-in-law, Hilda Ruggles, Perry Sound, Ont.; several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Doris Doreen (Sanford) Ruggles; son, Dale Ruggles; daughter, Janet Ogilvie; brothers, Morris & Murray Ruggles; sister, Charlotte Forth. Visitation for Walter will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday February 7. Rev. Marc Potvin officiating, with burial in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Grand View Manor or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
