Of New Minas, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2008, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. He was 89. Born in Italy Cross, he was a son of the late Smith and Bessie (Dagley) Slauenwhite. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Craig; daughters, Marion (Curtis Greencorn), Kentville; Peggy (Douglas Huntley), Berwick; Elizabeth (Murray Laniham), Centreville; Edith Tupper (Trevor Kelly), Kingsport; Paulette (David Walsh), Aylesford; Pamela (David Burns), Canning Mountain; Blanche Sawler, Kingston; sons, Robert (Carol Gould), Kentville; David, Kentville; sister, Jean, Cambridge; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Aubrey (Surrey, England); infant daughter, Beatrice Jean; his first wife, the late Marjorie (Sarty) Slauenwhite. Everette was a kind, loving, father, husband and brother. A wonderful loving gentleman. He will be sadly missed by all. A kind grampa to his grandchildren. Everette started work at an early age in the woods, cutting pulpwood, logs, etc. He also worked on different farms in the valley and Digby area. There will be visitation for Everette from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, with a funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, both in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverette Ave., Kentville 902-678-2151, Rev. Tim Bigelow officiating, with burial in Lakeville Cemetery.
