With unbearably broken hearts we announce the passing of Lila Elizabeth Peel, at home on Sunday, March 8, 2009 in Aylesford. Born in Botwood, NF in 1950, she was the daughter of the late James Francis and Amy Butler. She leaves to mourn sons, Douglas Peel, AB.; Stephen Peel (Tiffany Oikle), Aylesford; daughters; Noreen Huber (Kevin Singleton), Port Williams; Charlene Peel (Ryan Muise), Aylesford; grandchildren, Nicole, Cheyenne, Alex and Kaity; sisters Ruby, ON, Margaret, ON; Bonnie (Howard), ON; Betty (Andy), O'Leary, PEI; Fronie Meister Aylesford; brother, Gerald (Ann), NF. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Colin, mother & father; sister, Hersey; brothers, Kalvin and Ted; brother-in-law, Bill Meister. She was a great fan of Conway Twitty. She was a wonderful & loving aunt & great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Lila was an adopted nanny to many, a loyal and supportive friend, Yahtzee player extraordinaire and could cook the best Jigs dinner in Nova Scotia. Visitation will take place 7-9 p.m., Thursday, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Friday March 13. Chaplain Jim Norton officiating, with burial in the St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, Auburn and a reception to follow at 2689 Highway #1 Aylesford (next to the old Scotiabank) Flowers gratefully accepted, donations in memory of Lila may be made to the Aylesford Christmas Mommies and Daddies.
