94, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in North Kingston, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Leslie T. and Rena S. (Loomer) Howell. Margaret had taught school in Kings County for 42 years, retiring from A.V.M. Morfee School, C.F.B., Greenwood in 1979. She was a member of the Kingston United Church, where she had been a member of the United Church Women. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her children, Leslie (Myrna) Saunders, Burlington; Richie Saunders, Auburn; Noreen (Laurie) Dunham, Harbourville; grandchildren, Julia MacDonnell; Paul Saunders; Bruce & Karen Dunham; Terry Saunders; Margaret Ann Fenech; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Everett B. Saunders; son, Phillip E. Saunders in infancy; brother, Donald (Dorothy) Howell; sisters, Genevieve (Fred) Sweeney; Bertha (Arthur) Wood. Visitation will take place 7-9 p.m., Wednesday in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place 2 p.m., Thursday, July 2. Rev. Michael Mugford officiating, assisted by Rev. Linda Winton. Burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to any charity.
