73, Kentville, Kings Co., formerly of Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away on Monday, September 28, 2009, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Fonthill, Ont., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Bea) Cooney. Marilyn had worked at Avon Foods Ltd., Berwick, which later became Cobi Foods for 25 years. She was a member of the Aylesford Baptist Church and in more recent years she was active in the Kentville United Baptist Church. Marilyn had volunteered at the Treasure House, Kentville and at the Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville. Surviving are sons, Ronald (Debbie) Parker, Waterville; Wayne (Judy Burke) Parker, Kentville; daughter, Cheryl (Hank) Meyer, Kentville; step-children, Jocelyn (Steve) MacGlennon, Aylesford; Greg (Peggy) Patterson, Kingston; grandchildren, Jamie, Trevor, Brandon, Samuel and Sarah Parker; Lorne Allan; great-grandchildren, Colin and London Parker; Walker and Jackson Ruggles; Ethen Fleurant; step grandchildren, Tracey, Amy, Shawn, Nick; step great-granddaughter, Danielle; sister, Norma Leppert, Fonthill, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Harry Bert Parker; second husband, Donald Alison Patterson; grandson, Glen Allan; great-grandson, Ashton Ruggles; step-great grandson, Lee; brothers, Glenn, Donald and Gordon Cooney; three sisters in infancy (including twins); sister, Ethel Jenkins. Visitation for Marilyn will take place 7-9 p.m., Friday, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Funeral service will take place 2 p.m., Saturday October 3, in the Kentville United Baptist Church, 503 Main St., Kentville. Rev. John McNally officiating, with burial in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Kentville United Baptist Church, or to any charity.
