Wills (Sawler), Shirley Marguerite - 98, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Kentville on September 6, 1911, she was the second child of the late Thomas and Edith Jones. The family moved to Canaan when she was four. Her mother died when Shirley was thirteen which left Shirley to help raise the three youngest siblings. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She married Robert Sawler in 1930. Shirley worked at Larson Packers for many years. She was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Ed) Pfahl, Ottawa; son, Ron (Marg) Sawler, Somerset; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Sawler, Kingston; grandchildren, Alan, Debbie, Kerry, Sandi, Mark, Peter, Roger, Jill, Kevin and Paul; 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Sawler; second husband, Lorne Wills; her son, Eddie; her infant daughter, Marjorie; step grandson, Byron; brothers, Charlie, Stuart, Jim; her sister, Elizabeth. Funeral service will be held on Thursday October 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home Chapel, Berwick, with Rev. Murray Shaw and Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders officiating. Burial will be in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley?¢s memory may be made to the Gideon Bible Society, the Berwick Baptist Church or to a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the care of the H.C.
