Spicer, Nelson Maurice - 73, Berwick, Kings Co., formerly of Harbourville, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009, in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Harbourville, he was a son of the late Elias and Rowena (Taylor) Spicer. In his early years, Nelson worked at Arthur Ogilvie's mill. Later he was a truck driver for Eric Rhodenizer and had worked at farms in various locations. In spite of ill health and much suffering, his faith in God held strong. Nelson was a member of the Mountain Mission United Pentecostal Church. He loved and cared for his family very much and loved to entertain his family and friends with his sense of humour. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Vera M. (Comeau) Spicer, Berwick; daughters, Darlene (Philip) Silver, Berwick; Karen (Leroy) Kenneally; sons, N. Eugene (Marilyn) Spicer; Donald (Melma) Spicer, all of Harbourville; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Leona Mapplebeck, Garland; brother, Wayne (Shirley) Spicer, Harbourville; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Keith and Kevin Spicer. Visitation for Nelson will take place 7-9 p.m., Saturday, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place 2 p.m., Sunday, December 13. Rev, Dean Dickinson officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the M.S. Society or to any charity. www.hclindsayfuneralhome.ca
