Strong, Vincent Hartley "Vinnie" - 54, South Waterville, Kings Co., passed away at his home on Monday, January 11, 2010. Vincent was born in Berwick, Kings Co., on August 19, 1955 to parents Hartley Strong, South Waterville and the late Lenora (Schofield) Strong. He grew up in South Waterville with numerous siblings and extended family with lots of fond memories. He attended the little Waterville Schoolhouse before attending school in Cambridge, Central Kings and then Kings County Vocational School, obtaining a certificate in welding. He previously worked at Trenton Works, Scotian Gold, and most recently Cobi Foods and Stirlings. Besides his father he is survived by his wife Heather (Cook) Strong; children, Pauline Strong (Devin Rafuse), Grafton; John Strong (Lisa Redden-Strong), Aldershot; grandchildren, Caitlin, Chloe and Seth Strong; step-grandchildren, Benjamin and Evan Redden; half-brother, Grant Lloyd (Pat), Coldbrook; sisters, Diane Strong (Gordie Bowlby), North Alton; Gertrude Strong (Debbie Gabriel), South Waterille; Carolyn Brown (Michael Graves), South Waterville; Carol Walsh, Kentville; mother-in-law, Frances Cook, Kingston; sisters-in-law, Eileen Lloyd, South Waterville; Sandra Brittain, Kingston; Jeannie McNeil (Larry Corkum), Wolfville; brother-in-law, Brian (Carol) Cook, Windermere. Vincent was predeceased by his dear mother; half-brother, Garnet Lloyd; father-in-law, Arthur Lightfoot; brother-in-law, George Brittain. Visitation for Vincent will take place 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., Thursday, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Friday, January 15. Rev. David Elliott officiating, with burial in the Cambridge Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
