Obituary of Orlay Veno

62, Factorydale, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 22, 2009. Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late Lincoln and Marita (Corbin) Veno. After a distinguished career in the tourism industry in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Orlay relocated to Berwick to care for his parents and other family members. He was very community-minded and volunteered for a number of local organizations. Orlay had a zest for life and was always quick with a joke or to reach out to a friend in need. "Papa," as he was known to his grandsons, was an avid Red Sox fan and a member of the Berwick Sports Hall of Fame. He is survived by his daughter, Kari Lynn (Troy Underhill) Veno, Milton, Ont.; grandsons, Max Barnett Underhill, and Anderson John Underhill, Milton, Ont. Cremation has taken place and no visitation by request. Funeral service for Orlay and his parents Lincoln and Marita Veno will be Friday, August 28, at 5 p.m. in H. C. Lindsay Funeral Home Chapel, Berwick with Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating. Burial will be in the Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berwick Baptist Church.
