89, Kentville, formerly of Canning and Waterville Mountain passed away July 11, 2009, in Evergreen Home For Special Care. Born August 6, 1919, in Berwick, he was a son of the late Frank and Della (Taylor) Strong. Angus lived and worked in the Annapolis Valley all of his life. He was a hard worker and worked in farming, forestry and at Acadia University. Angus enjoyed Clydesdale horses. He is survived by sons, Ronald (Erlene), Medford; Brian (Linda), Canning; Richard (Wendy), Kentville; Keith, Wolfville; daughters Donna (Wayne) Balsor, Black Rock; Dorothy (David) Siscoe, Yarmouth; Nancy Blanchard, Yarmouth; Carol Strong, Kentville; brothers, Hartley and Laurice both of South Waterville; sisters: Edna (Douglas) Magee, Kentville; Esther Barteaux, Welland, Ont.; sister-in-law, Evelyn, South Waterville. Besides his parents, Angus was predeceased by wife, Katherine (Walsh); son Carl; daughter, Tina; sister, Pauline Lutz, and brothers, Orley and Harold. Visitation for the late Angus Carleton Strong will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 14 in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday July 15 in Berwick Baptist Church, Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating. Private family interment will take place in Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Victorian Order of Nurses.
