Passed away peacefully Monday, June 30, 2008, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after suffering a stroke on Saturday. Born September 19, 1930, in Lake Ramsay, New Ross, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Alvin and Naomi (Hiltz) Veinott. Malcom was an avid outdoorsman. He worked as a machine operator and a Christmas tree farmer. He enjoyed his horses and oxen and as well, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and down east music. He will be sadly missed by many family and friends, especially Marion Legge with whom he resided, and nephew, Miles Veinott. He is survived by brother, Cedric, Lake Ramsay; sisters, Marjorie (Skerry), New Ross; Doris (Hughes) and Winnie (Olmstead), both of Shoreham Nursing Home, Chester; Frances (Olmstead), Lake Ramsay; Loretta (Neville), Kentville; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Leland and Ernest, and sister, Reta Reevesand many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Malcom will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 38 Forties Rd., New Ross. (902-689-2961). Funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday July 3, in Christ Anglican Church, New Ross, with Rev. Rick Walsh of Chester, officiating. Interment will be in the Anglican Church Cemetery, New Ross. Family flowers only. Donations in Malcom's memory may be made to the New Ross Fire Department, Anglican Church Cemetery or a charity of choice.
