86, Halifax / Parkdale, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Friday, November 6, 2009 in Lindsay, Ontario. Maurice was the son of the late Steadman and Lucyann Zwicker, Parkdale. Maurice was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Canadian Army. After the war, he worked in the x-ray department at the old Camp Hill Hospital in Halifax. In 1958, he moved to Scarborough, Ontario and joined the staff of the Scarborough General Hospital, where he continuously worked for the next 30 years, retiring as Technical Administrator of Radiology. Surviving are children, Kenneth, Kentville; Sandra (Murray) Macumber, B.C.; three grandchildren; sister, Marion (Eric) Wilson, Dalhousie; brothers, Gilbert (Barbara), Colborne, Ont.; Lincoln (Liz), Pickering, Ont.; sister-in-law, Jean Carmichael, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Marjorie (Aalders), who passed away on September 8, 2009; daughter-in-law, Shirley Zwicker; brothers, Aubrey, Paul, Donald, Eric. Maurice and Marjorie have been cremated and there will be no visitation. A graveside service for Maurice and Marjorie will take place 11 a.m., Saturday, November 21, in the Berwick Cemetery, Main St., Berwick. Rev. Leon Langille officiating, with a reception following in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Those attending the graveside service can meet at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. and can follow the procession to the cemetery. Donations may be made to any charity.
