Franklin, Elizabeth Bernice -80 passed away peacefully at home on February 10,2013 with her family by her side. Born in 1932 in Mount Pleasant she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Violet (Everett) Jefferson. Elizabeth was very active in many church groups including the Bel Canto Choir; she was also a member of the Fundy Frolickers Square dancing group and the Zelma Rebekah Lodge. Her family recall fondly her exquisite talent for crocheting and her love of singing in fact even at the peak of her illness, Elizabeth would mouth the lyrics to “How Great thou Art “while a friend sang to her. Elizabeth leaves behind husband Carl, daughter Deborah( Kirk ) Tanner, Brothers; Frank(Donna) Jefferson, Everett(Pat)Jefferson; sisters Eva(Harold) Franklin and Shirley(Tom) Foster; Grandchildren Theron Switzer and Elizabeth Medicraft; great-Grandchildren Ean, Owen, Asher, Serenity, and Levi Medicraft. Besides her parents she is predeceased by Brother Lloyd Jr. and Sister Reta George. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday February 13 at the Hillgrove United Baptist Church Digby, NS at 2PM with Rev. Julia Howard officiating. Following the service there will be a reception in the church hall. Donations in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to the Hillgrove United Baptist Church or the Canadian Alzheimer Association. Family Flowers only please. Arrangements are entrusted to H.C. Lindsay Funeral Homes and Serenity Crematorium, Berwick, NS.
