Obituary of Wanda Bezanson

Please share a memory of Wanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
BEZANSON (Broome), Wanda J. -- Fraxville, New Ross, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2010, after an extended and courageous battle with cancer. A great advocate for children, Wanda represented her area on the South Shore Regional School Board where she had been Board Chair for seven of her 19 years. At the time of her death, Wanda was the treasurer of the Nova Scotia School Boards Association. She had also been a Councillor for District 6 in the Municipality of Chester for six years. Being community-minded, Wanda was instrumental in procuring grants to build the Forties Community Centre and served as a director for many years. Making wreaths in her basement with her mom turned into a business, Norwood Farms. Wanda became well known for her wreaths throughout Nova Scotia. This business evolved into her Crop-Hopper business and she nurtured scrapbooking for many across Nova Scotia. She will be fondly remembered by all her scrapbook friends right across Canada and the United States. Her courageous battle with cancer and her positive outlook on life has been an inspiration for all who knew her. Wanda will be dearly missed by her special mom, Pansy Bezanson; son, Mark Broome (Katie Hirtle); daughter, Laura (Jason Bent), and her precious grand-daughters, Brooke and Madyson Bent, all of New Ross. There will be a celebration of Wanda's life at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, in the Forties Community Centre. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made directly to the Chemotherapy Clinic at South Shore Regional Hospital, the Rose Fund, c/o Health Services Foundation, P.O. Box 492, Bridgewater, NS B4V 2X6 or on-line at: www.hsfsouthshore.ca
