EASSON, William Parker "Bill" - 82, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Morristown, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Thomas C. and Mary M.G. (Parker) Easson. Bill was a long-time member of the Berwick Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon and on many committees throughout the years and at the time of his death was an Honourary Deacon. He enjoyed playing crib with his many friends and family. Bill, along with his brother, Philip were founding partners of Easson Transport Ltd., Berwick, and supported the Berwick Eassons Fast Ball Team. He was a director of the Canadian Trucking Alliance and was a past President of the A.P.T.A. Bill had been a member of Berwick Town Council, Berwick Gala Days Committee, Berwick and District Community Association (Arena), the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board and had been inducted in the Berwick Sports Hall of Fame as a builder and was a sponsor and supporter of the hall of fame. He had volunteered at the Berwick Food Bank and was involved with the Annapolis Valley Housing Authority and many other community activities. In his retirement, Bill was well known for his passion for wood working. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth K. "Muff" (Tait) Graves-Easson, Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown; children, Alyson (Shawn) Muzzerall; Thomas (Marsha) Easson, all of Berwick; Paul (Cindy) Easson, Factorydale; Peter (Heather) Easson, Wolfville; Ruth Easson (Terry Wood), Berwick; grandchildren, Jessica and Parker Muzzerall; Brian, Rodney, Gina, William, Leanne, Ben and Jeff Easson; step-children, Lee (Geoff) Lindup, Perth, Australia; Laurie (David) Jolly, Bridgetown; Lissa (Gary) Elder, Golden, B.C.; Tait (Leigh) Graves, Kentville; nine step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; brother, Philip (Ferne) Easson, Berwick; sister, Gwen Pollet, Ottawa, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Janet L. (Gammon) Easson; a son in infancy. Visitation for Bill will take place from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Funeral service will take place 2 p.m., Friday, February 12, in the Berwick Baptist Church, 265 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery.
