HUDGINS, Donald Aubrey - 84, Harmony, Kings Co., passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born on November 29, 1925, Weston, Kings Co., he was the son of the late Frank Outhit and Odessa Jane (Gillie) Nickerson- Hudgins. Donald was a veteran of the Second World War and served in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve from September 16, 1943 to October 1945 and thereafter worked at C.F.B. Greenwood, as a Mess Man, Meat Cutter and as a Cook until his retirement. He was very fond of the out of doors and could repair just about anything. He was the last surviving member of his family. Surviving are wife, Dorothy Etta (Swindell) Hudgins, Berwick; children, Frank Ezra Hudgins (Deidra), Timberlea; Ruth Anne Pyne (Paul), Lakeville; Etta Jean Adams (Ken), Athol, Cumberland Co.; Mark James Hudgins (Valerie), Harmony; grandchildren, Aaron Hudgins (Jen), Timberlea; Sarah Hudgins, Sherbrooke, Quebec; Joanna Hudgins, Wolfville; Miles Pyne, Lakeville; Peter Pyne (Natasha), Lakeville; Sarah Adams, Athol; Luke Hudgins, Victoria, British Columbia; Shonna Hudgins, Salt Springs Island, British Columbia.; great granddaughter, Chloe Hudgins, Timberlea. Donald was predeceased by sister, Virginia Isabelle Krikke; half- sisters, Edna Belle Killam, Port Alberni, British Columbia; Bernice Reid, Halifax; Iona Mailman, Yarmouth; infant half brother, Alvin Nickerson, New Harbour. There will be no Visitation. Funeral service for Donald will take place at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 14, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. Chuck McGuire officiating, with burial in Aylesford Union Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Grand View Manor or Harmony Baptist Church.
