PEMBERTON, Dorothy Inez?ì³ 56, Windsor, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2010, in Hants Community Hospital following complications with kidney dialysis and brain cancer. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of Joseph and Ola (Dodge) Wright, Ardoise, Hants Co. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was a true friend to all people that she met. Dorothy was self employed as a seamstress. She made Scottish attire for many pipe and drum bands throughout the Maritimes and for several well-known dignitaries. Besides working from her home in Windsor, she also worked for the Tartan House in Halifax and the craft shop at the Gaelic College in Cape Breton. She made draperies for resale for two Windsor stores and many bridal gowns and prom dresses. Dorothy is survived by her parents; husband, Steven; son, Bryan (Amy); brothers, Wade (Susie) and Raymond (Susan); sister, Leola (Bill); brothers-in-law, Ken (Judy) and Fred (Nancy); sister-in-law, Donna, as well as several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter, Erin; brother-in-law, Blaine; sister-in-law, Carolyn; father-in-law, Fred Pemberton and mother-in-law, Dot Pemberton. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home. No visitation by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. A memorial service for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, April 6, at 2 p.m. from Windsor United Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff White officiating. A private interment will follow the church reception in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Kilcollins, Dr. Catherine Smith and Rev. Jeff White for all your support and care giving.
