SHERMAN, Maurice Whitney "Morsey" ?ì³ 86 of Canning, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Canning, he was a son of the late Theo and Mary (Kane) Sherman. Morsey was a Veteran of the Second World War. He was a hardworker. His family and friends remember him as an extraordinary person who was always happy and kind. Morsey will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Sherman, Canning; sons, David (Thelma) Sherman, Pereau; William (Bonnie) Sherman, Canning; John (Sandra) Sherman, Kentville; brothers, Stanley (Muriel) Sherman, Canning; Robert (Diane) Sherman, Canning; grandchildren, Brian, Billy Jr., Dean, Timothy, Kathy and Kelly; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Morsey was predeceased by his brother, John Sherman; sisters, Myrtle Levy, Josephine Butler and Ella Sherman; grandchildren, Michael Sherman, David Michael Sherman and Julie Sherman. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville, NS B4N 2K5 (902-678-2151) where a legion service followed by a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, Rev. Peter Lohnes officiating. Interment will take place in Canard Burial Grounds Cemetery. No flowers please. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
