GILLIATT (MacAskill), Louise Blanche ?ì³ Rose Marie Guest House, Hantsport, formerly of Dartmouth, died on Friday, May 14, 2010. She was a daughter of the late William and Lavinia (Clattenburg) MacAskill, born in Kennetcook and was a member of Windsor United Church. She was also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, Windsor Branch. Louise enjoyed her life and together with her husband travelled widely, both overseas and at home. They made their winter home in Florida for many years and their summers were spent in and around Dartmouth. She enjoyed reading, walking and family gatherings were very important to her. Surviving are her sister, Effie and husband Robert Skalitzky, Wisconsin; brother, Harris and wife Shirley, New Ross; sisters-in-law, Ethel MacAskill, Windsor; Mildred MacAskill, Kennetcook; brother-in-law, Gerald Cooper Toronto,Ont.; sister-in-law, Marion and husband Aulay MacRury, Belleville, Ont.; also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald (June 2,1996); sisters, Ellamae Elliott, Annie MacDonald, Bernice Cooper, Jeannette Jones, Susan Miller and Olla Dalrymple; brothers, Percy, James, Murray, Leslie and Creelman; also brother-in-law, Lawrence (Barney) Gilliatt; sister-in-law, Frances Thompson. Cremation has taken. No visitation by request. Private family committal and burial will take place in Kennetcook at a later date. A sincere and heartfelt thanks is extended to Rose Marie and staff for the excellent care given to Louise for the last 16 months. The compassionate care shown to Louise is greatly appreciated by all her extended family.
