VanDommelen, Anthony (Antoon) Francis, 81, Port Williams, Kings County, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Erp, Netherlands, he was the second oldest of eleven children, and immigrated to Canada in 1953. Anthony had a life long career as a skilled auto mechanic. He is survived by his wife Maria (van denBosch) of 55 years, and children Wilhelmina (William) Dickson, Caroline Kelly, Jeffrey (Dianne), Sandra (Doug) Holstead, Nancy (Mark) Bazinet, and Ronnie (Jennifer). Anthony was Opa to many grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Robert, Stephanie, David, Christopher, Peter, Maria, Ryan, Rebecca, and Katie, and Overgrootvader to one great grandchild, Viera. He is also survived by brothers Jan and Nout, sisters Bertha, Leny and Jeanny. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Frans, Albert, Adriaan, Pieter, sister Maria, all of the Netherlands. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Cremation has taken place and no visitation by request of the family. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph?¢s Roman Catholic Church, 48 Belcher Street, Kentville. The interment will be at a later date. The family wishes to extend a very special - thank youì³ to the staff of Evergreen Home for Special Care for their loving care and compassion given to Anthony during his extended stay with them. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony?¢s memory may be made to Evergreen Home Residents Society, or the Alzheimer?¢s Society.
