THOMAS, Mary Ellen - 73, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010, in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, Annapolis Royal. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Audrey (Goodchild) Drouillard. Mary Ellen was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish, Berwick, and an active member of the C.W.L. She graduated as a C.N.A. in 1975, from the N.S.C.C., Middleton Campus and had been employed first at Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, Waterville and later at Grand View Manor, Berwick. Mary Ellen had a passion for cats and always enjoyed a cup of coffee. Surviving are sons, Richard (Christine), Cold Lake, Alberta; Peter (Margo), Aylesford, Kings Co.; Michael (Carla), Coldberg, Ont.; daughters, Suzanne - Susan쳌 Helpard, St. Catharines, Ont.; Denise (Douglas Howatt) North, Kingston, Kings Co.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Albert Drouillard, both in the United States. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Paul; sister, Carolyn Riccardi. There will be visitation for Mary Ellen from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, beginning with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m., in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, June 18, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 120 Mill St., Berwick. Rev. Fr. Larry Pitcher officiating, with burial in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
