MILLETT (Deighan), Suzanne - Sueì³ - 74, New Minas, Kings Co., passed away peacefully with daughter Pamela, former daughter in law Marion Hill and friend Freda by her side on Thursday June 24, 2010, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Summerside, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Johnson) Deighan. She had lived in Toronto where her and Floyd started their family. She worked for Simpson Sears for a number of years. Sue and her husband moved their family to Nova Scotia in 1975, running a family roofing business for over 40 years. Sue proudly gave loving care to her husband Floyd and would have been married for 55 years as of July 2010; he passed on January 9, 2010. Sue was a loving and caring person. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed cooking for friends and family which she continued to do until the end. She was Queen of her castle, never letting anyone leave hungry. Sue enjoyed keeping her lawn?¢s freshly mowed and flowers fresh, her home tidy, and everything on schedule. She loved the company of her grandchildren and great-granddaughter Mia. Sue also enjoyed camping, outdoor concerts, and jiving. Special thanks to her best friend of 33 years Freda Bezanson, John Bresnan for his hard work in keeping her property looking so lovely and neighbors of thirty years, Bill and Patsy Clothier, the Medical Staff at Valley Regional Hospital, and the VON for their excellent care. She is survived by her son; Wayne (Sharon), Canning; daughter Pamela (Shawn), Winnipeg; son in law, Roger Pepin, Calgary, Alberta, six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Frank (Carol), Vancouver, BC, Gregory (Pauline), Prince Edward Island; sisters, Ethel (Austin) Pendergast, Prince Edward Island, Sister Mary Deighan, Prince Edward Island, Kay (Joe) Coady, Prince Edward Island, Isabelle Tuck, Niagra Falls, Ontario, Sabina Bourque, Barrie, Ontario, Rita Stanich, Alberta; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Sue was predeceased by daughter Nancy Pepin; brothers, Bill Johnson, Charlie, Richard, Stanley, Junior; sisters, Joan MacDonald, Edith Anthony and Elsie Connolly. Cremation has taken place. A funeral memorial service, followed by a reception will be held on Tuesday June 29, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Homes Chapel, Kentville with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will be in the Gaspereau Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and VON.
