Obituary of John Alfred Cowan

Cowan, John Alfred - "Hoppy" - 74, Marshalltown, Digby Co. passed away peacefully at home on June 25th, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late John and Alma Cowan.� Hoppy is survived by his wife Alda, Marshalltown; daughters Wanda (Brian) Savary, Smith's Cove, Susan (Troy) Andrews, Bear River, Kim (Derek) Melanson, Plympton; step-daughter Debbie Hamilton, Barrie, ON; grandchildren Sarah, Robyn, Mami, Makenna, Kyle, Bradley, Savannah, Mitch and Catlin. He is also survived by his sister Nancy (Errol) Thompson, Digby and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother Phillip and sister Jacqueline. Hoppy was an amazing and hard-working husband, father and grandfather who adored his daughters and grandchildren. He had a special place in his heart for each and every one of them. He worked so hard as a fisherman most of his life to provide the wonderful life he gave to his family. Hoppy loved the outdoors and spending time at camp with his buddies. He loved life and lived it to its fullest. Donations in memory of Hoppy may be made to the IWK. There will be no visitation or flowers by family request but everyone is welcome to come and celebrate the life of Hoppy at Grace United Church, Digby on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 am, with Rev.
