Harrison, William Clifford - 82, of Shannex Orchard Court, Kentville, N.S., formerly of Parksville, B.C., passed away Tuesday June 29, 2010 in Shannex Orchard Court, Kentville, N.S. Born in the U.K. he was the son of the late William and Lillian (Owen) Harrison. Cliff and Eileen were married in 1948 in the U.K. Cliff was a member of the Coldstream Guards. He was sent to Malaya where he served for 2 yrs. In 1954 Cliff and Eileen moved to Canada where he worked as a meat cutter for 12 yrs in Winnipeg. They moved to Vancouver where he worked as meat supervisor for H.Y. Louie (I.G.A.) for 25 yrs before retirement. Cliff enjoyed golfing, fishing and had a knack for needle work, tapestry. Cliff was a loving father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his many family and friends. Cliff?¢s loving cat Martha will miss him dearly. Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 62 yrs, Eileen Harrison, Greenwich; sons, Paul (Maria) Harrison, B.C., Nigel (Sarah Coombs) Harrison, Ont., Mark (Darcy) Harrison, West Glenmont; daughter, Luci (Randy) Osborne, B.C.; sister, Mae Woodson, Virginia, U.S.A.; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Edith Stanil; granddaughter, Brekke Harrison. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday July 9 in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville, N.S. B4N 2K5 (902-678-2151). Rev.Lynn Uzans officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Shannex Orchard Court, Kentville, N.S. for their care, compassion and support shown to Cliff. They would also like to thank the staff, management and owners of H.Y. Louie for their care and support shown to Cliff over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the S.P.C.A.
