MCINNIS, (Pinch) Bertha, 94, Greenwich, formerly of Black River, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2010. Born in West Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Emily Pinch. Throughout her lifetime, she helped many friends and family with her home care skills and her wonderful home baking. She enjoyed animals and needlepoint work. Bertha is survived by three step-children, Virginia Rector, New Minas; Carolotta Comeau, New Minas; Eric, New Minas; as well as several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a special nephew, David Guptil and his family of West Brooklyn. Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Ernest McInnis, sisters Hellen, Pearle Hiltz, brother Cecil, and stepson Ernest. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bertha?¢s memory may be made to the SPCA or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of NS. Visitation will take place at Serenity Funeral Home, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, NS on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. There will be no reception as per Bertha?¢s request. Interment will take place following the service at Black River Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Funeral Home & Crematorium, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, NS, B4P 1E7.
