Obituary of Muriel Eileen Rogers

ROGERS, Muriel Eileen (Whale) - 89, Cambridge, Kings Co. passed away on Saturday August 14, 2010. Born in Ilford, Essex UK she was a daughter of the late Francis and Frances (Porter) Whale. Muriel was a homemaker who loved to knit and cook meals, especially beans and bread. She enjoyed her family and loved to visit family and friends. Muriel was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Dr. C.B. Lumsden Branch No. 74, Wolfville and a member of the Wolfville Legion Auxiliary. Muriel is survived by her daughters Sheila Rogers, Halifax, Dianne Rogers, Kentville, Elaine Rogers (Gary Goodwin), Kentville, Janet Gertridge, Kentville; sons, Keith (Marguerite), Bridgewater, David (Leona), Calgary, Allan (Cindy), Mount Denson, Michael (Christa), Falmouth; 27 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Muriel was predeceased by her husband George; sister May and brother Frank. Visitation will be 7-9 pm Tuesday in Serenity Funeral Home, Wolfville where a funeral service will be 2 pm Wednesday August 18, 2010. Burial will be in the Willowbank cemetery, Wolfville. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kings Branch VON Palliative Care.
