RUSSELL, Bertha Dawn - 70, New Ross, Lunenburg County passed away peacefully on Thursday August 19, 2010 in the Valley Regional Hospital while surrounded by family. Born in New Ross she was the daughter of the late Robert and Daisy (Keddy) Reeves. - Bertì³, as most people knew her by; enjoyed playing crib and loved Bluegrass music. She attended many festivals with her husband Ted (Charles). Her favorite group was - A New Shade of Blueì³. Bert worked for Sears for many years. She loved having her family around; especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Ted (Charles); her daughter, Diane (Mike) Hill; son, Arthur (Tammy); sister, Sylvia Webber; brothers, Ashton (Shirley) Reeves, Arthur, Dean (Mona) Reeves, Parker (Shirley) Reeves; grandchildren, Brandon (Mother Donna Watson), Matthew Russell; Step grandchildren, Holly and Michael Wrixon; step great grandchildren, Brianna, Haley and Aleah. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers Blaine and Cecil Reeves, and sisters Dora and Hattie. Special thanks to Dr. Abriel Louise and all of the wonderful people at Valley Regional Hospital who showed such compassion for her length of time there. Visitation will be in the H C Lindsay Funeral Home, New Ross from 7-9 pm this evening. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday August 21, 2010 from the Christ Anglican Church, New Ross with the Reverend Catherine Desloges officiating. Interment will be in the Christ Anglican Church Cemetery, New Ross. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Bertha may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
