PARKER, John Edward - Jackì³ - 80, New Minas; passed away August 30, 2010 in Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Newport, Hants County he was a son of the late John and Geraldine (Caldwell) Parker. Jack was a carpenter by trade. He was always helpful to everyone. He loved a good joke and liked to engage in conversation with people and make them think. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna (Benedict); daughters Shirley Parker, Halifax, Sandra (Vance) Sanford, Martock, Helen Card (Wayne Clark), Windsor, Linda (Garnet) Hunter, Ottawa; sons Norman, Grand Prairie, Alta., William, St. John?¢s, NF, Nakia (Laura), Leslieville, Alta.; brother Vernon (Francis), Edmonton, Alta.; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his sisters Mary, Judy, Sheila and a brother Thomas. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday in H C Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverett Ave, Kentville where funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday. Rev. David Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in Jack?¢s memory may be made to the VON Kings Branch. Special thanks to the VON for all their kindness and care.
