Obituary of Adriana Knox

KNOX, Adriana Hendrika - Adrie쳌 - 85,New Canada, passed away September 4, 2010 in Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg. Born in Baarn, Holland she was a daughter of Hendrik and Christina (Van de BEEK) MOOIJ. Adrie was a war bride who moved to Nova Scotia in 1946 where she married her husband Ralph. Adrie had worked in the Dawson Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater. She also worked with Dr. Wylie Smith providing home care for many years. Adrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed knitting. Adrie is survived by her son Carl (Karen), Kentville; daughters Joyce (Arnold) Selig, New Canada and Judy (Aaron) Betts, Dartmouth; brother Jaap, Holland; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Besides her parents Adrie was predeceased by her husband Ralph; brothers, Jan, Wijnand, Hendik, Gerard, Christiaan and Steven; sisters, Carolina, Lambertha. A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday September 8, 2010 in the Lakeside Cemetery, New Canada, Lunenburg County with Lay - Pastor Wayne E. Dominey officiating. Donations in memory of Adrie may be made to the The Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg.
