McKAY, James Charles - Jimmyì³ - 57, Windermere, Kings Co., formerly of Brooklyn, Hants Co., passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a brief illness. Born in Windsor, Hants Co., he was a son of Barbara (Dill) McKay, Brooklyn, and the late James Reid. Besides his mother he is survived by son, Jonathan - J.J.ì³ (Charla) McKay; Jonathan?¢s mother, Mary (LeDuc) McKay, all of Berwick; daughter, Jillian Frasier, Falmouth; son, Troy Frizzel, St. Croix, from a pervious marriage; sisters, Deborah McKay, Maine; Lynda (Grant) Veinot; Wendy (Bill White) McKay; Pam (John) McKay Edgecomb, all of Windsor; brother, Grant (Holly) McKay, Wetaskiwin, Alberta. He is also survived by a large extended family including many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his father he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Isabelle. Jimmy graduated from Hants West Rural High School and studied forestry. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved all outdoor activities including camping, hiking and canoeing. Jimmy was involved in the Boy Scout Movement for many years as a leader. He had been a member of both the Brooklyn and Berwick Volunteer Fire Departments. Visitation for Jimmy will take place from 7-9 p.m., Friday evening in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11. Rev. Charles Bull officiating, with the Interment Service for immediate family members in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Brooklyn, Hants Co., with Rev. E.E. Hill officiating. All are welcome to a visitation/reception beginning at 3 p.m., Saturday afternoon in St. James Anglican Hall, Brooklyn. Donations in his memory may be made to Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
