Obituary of Edward Leroy Ryerson

RYERSON, Edward Leroy - 72, Auburn, Kings Co., passed away in Soldier?¢s Memorial Hospital, Middleton, on Monday, September 13, 2010. Born in Kentville, Kings Co., on May 20, 1938, he was a son of the late Edward and Greta (Rainforth) Ryerson, Edward was employed as a truck driver for a number of years. He loved his horses and hobby farm, which he enjoyed for many years. Edward enjoyed music, camping, listening to the conversation of other and the sounds of nature outside in his later years after he became blind due to retinitis pigmentosa. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ida (Foster) Ryerson, Auburn, who devoted her life to caring for him in her later years; daughter, Cindy (Michael) Gerrior, Kingston; sons, Doug (Julie), Auburn; Kevin (Tracey), Kingston; grandchildren, Chris, Matthew, Tyler, Meaghan, Ashley and Emma; as well as a great-granddaughter, Arianna; sisters, Ferne (Philip) Easson, Berwick; Julia (Jim) Kodey, Ontario; brothers, Frank (BettyAnn), Simcoe, Ont.; Neil (Joy) and Kenneth (Pauline), all of Auburn. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Elroy. Visitation for Edward will take place from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 15. Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating, with burial in the Morristown Cemetery, at a later date.
