Norton, Elizabeth - Betty쳌 May - 62, New Minas, passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, on Saturday November 13, 2010. Born in Weltons Corner, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Pauline (Lloyd) Norton. Betty worked at Hostess Foods for several years. Betty loved to bowl and was a member of the Hostess, Thursday morning league. She enjoyed the responsibility that came with supporting a foster child overseas and being a volunteer big sister. Betty enjoyed fishing, card playing, bingo, travelling and especially family gatherings. She is survived by her siblings, Marjorie Lewis, Whitehorse YT, Carl (Imelda) , Hamilton Ontario, James (Linda), Kentville, Doris Bond, Dartmouth, Billy, BC, Carol (Stan) Dodge, Wolfville NS, Kenny, Red Deer AB, Patricia (George)Benjamin Lookoff NS, Brian, Grand Pre NS, Gail Henshaw, Port Williams, Donna(Les) Guptill, Hantsport NS and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brother Donald Norton Jr. and brother in law Ralph Henshaw. Visitation will be on Thursday November 18, from 7-9 pm at Serenity Lindsay funeral Home, Wolfville. A grave side funeral service will be held on Friday November 19, at 2:00 PM at the Lower Horton Cemetery, Hortonville, With Pastor Timothy Bigelow officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in Betty?¢s memory may be made to the Diabetes Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Red Cross. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home & Crematorium, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, NS, B4P 1E7.
