STODDART, Glen Milford - 91, Harmony, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Harmony, he was a son of the late Milford and Alice (Randall) Stoddart. Glen spent his life-time as a farmer, starting at the age of 15 on his family farm homestead. He always took great pride in his crops and animals and will be missed by all of his cats. Glen?¢s wish was to leave the farm for the final time with his boots on. He did his chores for the last time an hour before leaving for the hospital waving to the family dog as he left. Glen had been employed with the Nova Scotia Department of Highways and Annapolis Valley Peat Moss, where he was in charge of the carrot crops. Glen was a life-long member of the P.C. Party of Nova Scotia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and had been a taxidermist. Glen had been awarded various trophies for hunting trips to Cape Breton and Newfoundland. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Norma I. (Brown) Stoddart; son, Barry (Helen Baltzer) Stoddart, Harmony; daughters, Cindy (Victor) Robinson, Halifax; Marylynn Stoddart, Harmony; foster son, Wayne Sprake, North Carolina; grandchildren, Barclay (Janet), Kyla (Chris), Troy (Karen), Tracey (Colin), John and Edwin; great-granddaughters, Lyndsey and Danielle; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a foster son, Jack; brothers, Robert in infancy; Harold and Maurice; sisters, Ella, Lelia and Pauline. At Glen?¢s request there will be no visitation at the funeral and all are welcome to a Graveside Service that will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, OCTOBER 17, in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. Pastor Chuck McGuire officiating, with a reception to follow in the Harmony Community Hall. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Annapolis Valley Branch or to any charity. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the H.C.
